Thanks a lot for this, I've been looking for this when I had to sollicitate for internship, but there was nothing in Dutch (I did manage to get the internship though). Never thought of looking into English things.
Now I was randomly stumbling (stumbleupon), and came across this. It's about the last bit of information, filling in the blanks of what I already knew. Only thing left is to practice somehow :)

Very annoying questions. I interview people a lot, and I must ask 6 of these dumb questions to fill in the spaces, and I tell the candidate that HR wants me to fill them up, then move on to the real thing; the details of what the job is in the first place.

There are several parts to answering these questions successfully.
1.Hearing and understanding the question.
2.Wording a confident, competent answer that addresses the employer's or interviewers needs.
3. Ensuring that the answer has been understood by the interviewer.

These are the standard questions from the average HR. Unfortunately they really don't relate to the jobs most professionals are looking for.
